In July, 2026, John and I were invited to visit Trinity Church in Sharpsburg, GA. It was wonderful connecting with the community there.
Going to visit churches, sharing about our journey to Bethlehem to serve at Jerusalem School Bethlehem (JSB), inviting communities to partner with us, encouraging others to go and serve globally; this is what we are called to do during this season. It is a joy and honor to do so.
What makes our visit to Trinity Church extra special is a wild story of God's divine design unfolding in our lives. Intrigued?
Back in September, 2025, John and I attended a missions meeting at Cross Assembly in North Carolina. At the conclusion of the meeting, we connected with the global workers overseeing the project in Bethlehem. As we discussed the project and the possibility of serving there, it was recommended that we talk with a pastor in Georgia who is very involved with the Jerusalem School in Bethlehem, Dr. Mark Anthony. John nearly fell out of his chair. This was mind-blowing!
Dr. Mark Anthony and his wife, Julie are dear friends of ours. In fact, Pastor Mark officiated our wedding 30 years ago, in July of 1996. Although all of us moved away from North Georgia a few years later, our families have stayed connected.
However, we had no idea that the Anthony's, Trinity Church & Trinity Christian School were so deeply invested in JSB.
Some would say this is a coincidence, but we see the divine providence of God at work! This discovery was only the beginning, as the doors to serve in Bethlehem began swinging wide open for us. Every step of the way, God has confirmed the call, making the path forward very clear. We are convinced: This is the time. This is the place.
As we've shared this story, we've encouraged people to hold onto the promises of God, and the dreams He has placed in their heart. As you get to know us and our story, you will hear more about this dream to Go and serve globally. And here we are... July of 2026!
For God, these thirty years are like the blink of an eye. In one beautiful moment, we have come full circle. Not only are we celebrating 30 years of marriage, a growing family and the enduring faithfulness of God; we are stepping into an exciting new season. We truly believe that all that we have experienced over the years has prepared us for this moment.
Where do we go from here? What is our timeline?
Although we would love to be in Bethlehem for the first day of school on August 29, 2026, we are trusting God's timing. We have learned, His timing is perfect.
John and I have been so encouraged this summer as our network of support has grown with both individuals and churches choosing to partner with us. Every day we are one step closer to Bethlehem! Please continue to pray as we trust God for the remaining funds to reach the Holy Land! We're hoping to make the transition by January, 2027.
We are truly honored to be a part of what God is doing at the Jerusalem School in Bethlehem, and we look forward with anticipation to all that lies ahead.
